2022 has been a very busy year for Everycare. We continued to get round the ever-increasing changes for the safe delivery of care working alongside Covid. We did very well until the latter part of the year – but with the relaxation in Covid guidelines, it was inevitable we would have carers contracting it – and we did at one point – but we made it through the other side and kept our clients safe.
We held 2 really successful TechFest65 events this year, one in February and then another in October. We love TechFest65 and enjoy helping the over 65s get to grips with their technical devices. Meeting so many new people has probably been the highlight of the year – look out for our next free event and come along, we can’t wait to see you.
We have recently changed our systems for the office and carers. We are now using Careline Live – it hasn’t been the easiest of transitions but we think we have sorted most issues that have come up. The carers, as usual, have been amazing and patient as we got to grips and sorted teething problems out. We are able to offer access to loved ones’ care notes free of charge. Contact the Everycare office if this would apply to you.
We have continued our partnership with Beanbag Care. Beanbag Care is technology for the home when elderly relatives don’t want or aren’t quite ready for care yet. It works with sensors that would pick up if a fall has happened and alerts the next of kin or other contact to let them know there has been a fall. It also lets contacts know if they haven’t got up from their bed or chair for long periods. It offers the ability to adjust the heating remotely to ensure loved ones do not get too hot or cold according to the time of year is. It is peace of mind for loved ones that someone won’t be lying on the floor or unwell without them knowing.
Everycare continues to grow whilst still maintaining that family feel. We have been extremely fortunate that whilst other agencies have struggled to get carers, we have managed to take on some wonderful, experienced carers and kind and caring people. Our recruitment market stall in the summer was a success and we have built on that. As the company grows, we have taken on extra staff in the office. But we couldn’t do what we do without the love and dedication our carers bring to the job, we are so thankful to each and every one of them.
We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. We hope you have a safe and peaceful time. We send our love to those who have loved ones missing from the table this year.
