All workers are DBS checked before being employed. This is an enhanced criminal records check that will reveal anything in the person’s background including police cautions.
We have a comprehensive induction programme which includes a work pack for staff to take away which has questions for them to answer to show that they have understood the training.
We endeavour to send the same Care Worker as much as possible, but we can not expect people to work every day of the week. By law workers have to have days off and to take holidays.
We require 24 hours notice to cancel a visit without any charge. If the notice is less than 24 hours than we still charge so that the Care Worker is not out-of-pocket.
Calls are for a minimum of 30 minutes. We would recommend longer calls especially where someone is feeling socially isolated.
